Totally agree with that Glen, High end gear will always demand top dollar. There are bargains to be had but you either need to know people or fall lucky.

How would you know something like that is genuine? There seems to be no markings on it. Looks like it could be easily faked/copied.
I'm not saying it is fake or casting doubts about the seller, Just curious.

Cook clamps are pretty easy to tell a genuine one from a fake if your holding them, shape, weight, finish etc. Anything can be copied and my advice for something like this is to buy from someone you know and trust

  yeh its mad that, quite like them copies  , like ash said the old stuff still is bringing the dosh the only problem is it can be reproduced for a fraction of its sale value , like that clamp as an example and firms like izumi now bringing the chains out again like the black and silver etc
