Shimano DX or SX

How can you tell if a pedal is a Shimano DX or SX? I think an SX is a smaller pedal! Any other give-a-ways?

The DX is a softer looking pedal and the SX has sharper lines

DX has cut lines into it and the SX has raised lines

also the best give away is that the DX have pushed in round pins - the SX has moulded square pins (see pic above )

The dirty flecky mounts on the SX are an instant clocker.

DX and SX were available at the same time - thing was the higher end DX went hand in hand with Higher end equipped riders .....

the SX was designed as a dual-use pedal. BMX/MTB, with toe clip mounts. 


Maybe thats why they were not as widespread in the BMX world.....

thought they were around the same price but just not as desirable due to their looks
one think for sure is they have become the poor mans dx

They were used bitd, some riders preferred them for clearance. They were the same price anyhow give or take a quid.
