my patty long came third in the old school race, was well chuffed as i didnt expect anything at all, thankyou mods :daumenhoch:

There was only ONE moderator on the judging team   :daumenhoch:

just out of curiosity who was the moderator judging  ???

Actually there were no Moderators judging, I was judging but I am Admin (just being pedantic).

The judges were me, Diesel, Kungfunky and Beard1973 and when we came to a tent containing our bikes the person who's bikes we were looking at walked away and stayed away until the other 3 moved on.

Also when the overall judging of the bikes were decided, again if one of us was in contention then we walked away and left the decision to the other 3.  In the Vintage race section, both Ash and I had bikes in contention for the trophies and we asked Waxintaxin to judge in our place.

I cannot remember how many medals there were in total, however they went to the bikes that stood out from the crowd - Bikes that in our opinion warranted a nod of appreciation.

That said as exciting as it was to be invited to judge this year - I don't think I every want to do it again.

As I walked around and tried to narrow down all of the really, really great bikes (most of which would have been clear winners in years past) I truly felt bad as I know how much effort went in to each and everyone of them.

I have never seen so many bikes with such attention to detail , so I do hope that those who will inevitably be disappointed still appreciate the quality of their builds as much as we did.

LOL Every year the judges never want to do it again.

It is such a hard job and can be as subjective as each judge appreciates the little detail differently.

The bikes this year were stunning and the bar has been raised again. Really amazing to see such differing styles and quality restoration and building workmnship

A few bikes stood out for me this year and they were the unusual and the fine attention to detail.

But my favorite bike this year had a petrol tank and when you sat on it you had to go RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
