I know one or two odd bits have popped up lately like, i think danny d found a bike with some red cages on?
I don't know if they did black with silver for sure or not. I think you will have definately come across this thread on the museum though of the guy with the suntour pedal fetish.

Yep, BITD they did them with a brushed finished body and black cages and black body with chrome cages. You could also buy Suntour replacement cages anodised in blue, red or gold as well as black and chrome.

You don't see info like this pop up often, particularly from a reputable source.

There was what looked like some for sale on the museum the other day.
I say looked like because they were fooked but you could make out the cages had been silver and the bodies looked black anno.

I've got a set with chrome cages, but the chrome is a 0.00001 out of 10 qua condition. They are beyond any level of saving the finish, what there is of it.

I had my XC II cages chromed,but i didn't realisethey came from factory like that!
