Budget build off
« on: August 04, 2012, 03:27 PM »
Not wanting to sound too much like our friend snapper  ;) , is anyone interested in a budget build off?

You know the score, cheap as chips plenty of elbow grease, something different for us to gawp at for 5 mins  :daumenhoch:
I can set a few rules if enough of you are interested  ;D
Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.

Good man, bored at looking at all these fancy pants bikes  ;D

For a start was thinking of setting a £125 budget inclusive of any parts you may already have and setting a date in december for voting for a winner. May even have a little plastic trophy  ;D
A sort of poor mans bike of the month for any bike, any age before 1995 maybe

Can fix some definate rules if we get enough peeps pulling their finger out  :D

Any era or old school only?
Do you grovel to your master? Do you beg like a dog?

Don't think you will be able to do much with that budget?

What about pre 1985 £250 budget including or excluding any postage costs of the items?

Ian :)

£250 is a bit high in my book what about £175. looking to include as much variety as possible with era's and get peeps being creative with their builds, beg, steal, borrow but keep your cheque books out of it. I could build at leat 2 completes with the crap in my shed as i'm sure we all could.

Its not about Dia compe this or Kashimax aero that, lets have some laughs and get creative, swap bits, restore bits that you would normally sling  ;D

Come on guys it could be a right laugh  :daumenhoch:

Right there seems to be enough interest so i will set it up with some tasty strict rules in tech and resto  :daumenhoch:

Seriously this could be a right laugh with some whacky builds showing off some low end parts  ;D

I think the more low end budget type bikes from bitd would be the best way to go? The fact that you have managed to pick up a well known make for peanuts at some time is all well and good but not the point,so my opinion would be low end is the way to go  :daumenhoch:
