Bendy is your man for this sort of thing but i imagine if fine wet or dry isnt needed then a plastic polish or maybe even t-cut would do it. They do a plastic polish in B&Q if memory serves for upvc windows and stuff  :)

there is a trouble with what the finish is on the seat at the start  ??? 

textured or smooth flat ?

if you buff it up the seat can warm up and melt a bit which will turn the texture different again

it is a fine art - you have to try and learn and also depends on if you are worried about messing up the seat ?
