BMX MUSHING
« on: July 11, 2012, 03:48 PM »
I just bought a juvenile Siberian Husky and am currently researching taking him out for a bit of mushing. Does anyone know anything about it and have any tips?

My dog.

Buy a treadmill!!! You will never tire this dog out  ;D

We had one a few years back as a pup, bloody lovely thing it was and a lovely temperament, but had far too much energy for its own good.
I looked into it and it turns out , even at an early age, they are expected to do 50 mile sled pulls or something daft like that. Pulling your arse around the park wont cut it  ;D

I would have one tomorrow if i lived somewhere remote. It felt wrong living in suburbia with it even though we walked it 4 times a day.

Not looking to put a downer on things fella, just the facts of owning one  :daumenhoch:
Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.

Did 85 miles on a BMX myself the other night matey, can't put a downer on me. I am schooled in the art of big dog keeping, but not mushing. :coolsmiley:

I found some old rope and a carabiner and took him for a few trial laps of the park, no video unfortunately but it tired the big lump out.  :smitten:

I'm not a dog person usually, but that is one ace beast, with practical uses to boot.

Might strap Meatballs to the front of me Haro for getting too & from the offy
