Yup the first races to be held for the elite men top riders.
Remember this seeing this for the first time   many years ago, after this became a succes  the sx tracks where invented

Even earlier than this there was a BMX track in Yeovil, Somerset bitd (1984) and it was built on the side of a massive hill.  It basically plumetted down about 100 feet to the bottom.

That was aired on tv in about 2000-2001 and  was a bit of a mini series.Steve Veltman (excuse the spelling) was one rider who stood out as well as Christian Beccerine.I think Robbie Miranda was the one who won in the end.One of our guys was on it but i forget his name.I think it was Uncle Bucks lad,took a quick walk round the track and jumped everything first go.Great racing.
