Sympathetic Tuf Neck stem resto Finished pics 31/7/12
« on: July 20, 2012, 09:21 PM »
Been doing this a while as bought 2 caps that were no good as yet  :2funny: finally got a cap off G on here with some slight gouges in it . But couldn't bring myself 2 file all the ally away 2 get rid of them . So out came the welder again and filled up the holes and filed it all back . Decided I wanted 2 try 2 recreate the original brushed finish as best I could before annodising. Am going this way as I prefere original not perfect stuff now as it all was bitd 2 b honest . Here u go  ;) After opinions and feedback fellas  :coolsmiley:

All done  ::)

Can't really see how bad it was before you dropped those blobs of weld on it so it's quite hard to guage how much it's improved.  Do you have a 'before' picture?

What did you do to get the linneshed effect Steve? I bought a polished Pro Neck and want to get it back to the standard brushed finish.

What you've done looks very good but a decent pic of the damage would be helpful.   :daumenhoch:

Not bad for a YamYam..... There us no doubt you have some serious skills Steve, but for once could you just do an "average" or even slightly crap resto so the rest of us can think "pah! I could do that"....

Mint my friend. Just ace.
