MK1 Raleigh Mini Burner
« on: July 15, 2012, 10:05 PM »
Hey all,

Just managed to pick myself up a nice Chrome MK1 Raleigh Mini Burner for restoration in sweet condition...

Here are my questions...

It comes with no grips no wheels and no brakes....

I no im gona have to take a hit on the wheels but can i put full size brakes and grips on it?

Maybe from a larger burner?

Im thinking of Dia-Compe Mx1000 brakes all around but would they fit a mini burner??

I was also told this model is rare? is somebody pulling my leg lol?

And where is the best place to get parts for this little bad boy...

Thanks in advance CuRbY... :coolsmiley:

Gotta get this ride ride able for my lad as were going camping next sunday so i got a week to get it up and running haha no pressure then...

Also would be buying parts from AlansBmx be a no no? as they sell some good old skool stuff but im guessing its all new stock so would this drop the value of the burner?

I've got x8 mini burners!

Any normal parts fit, but your wheels will need to be 16"

It was a good buy :daumenhoch: the stem would sell for that on its own cleaned up :daumenhoch: I prefer the mk2 as it has a proper crank set not like the mk1's cotter pin crappy set up ;)

Wow I love the mk2 skyway rep one. Can I ask where you gout the blue mags from?

I've just added a thread of the chrome/blue min I did this weekend - 'A Mini Transformation'.

Here is a mini skyway rep I did too.

One 4 year old and 10 minis on the go!

The mags are acorn freestyle mini's I think, i'l have to check.
Bought them of a forum member. I'm still after a straight bar pad for it though.
Have you any spare ?

I haven't got any straight skyway bar pads, sorry. I've got x2 V pads but use them both, one on the mini and one on my Streetbeat.

Acorns hey, I'll keep my eyes peeled - thanks.
