My first post on RAD was on: December 09, 2007, 03:22 pm so that'll be the day then.

I was on football forums so i googled to see if there were any BMX forums for sad old men and up came RAD.

I had checked Ebay previous to this for an old GJS which was my old racebike but nothing ever came up. I eventually bought a Freeagent Limo as my first build off of Daz Bmx off of here, i still have the bike aswell.

Thankfully my building has stopped for a while as my MK bike is finished and next season's build is stored away for a rainy day.

Bought my son a bmx in August 2007 he wanted to go to a skatepark, i took him and watched

A week later i bought a green 85 Haro Master complete off ebay for £250

I knew nothing about new school at the time, soon realised the haro was crap

About 3 years ago for me. A mate of mine started me off again when I saw his restorations. Missed out on the cheap 'glory years' but found this place and my wallet emptied almost immediately. Been out of it since about 87/88 so missed the entire mid school and then end of old school really, which is weird as half my bikes are classed as part of this period, but I love the geometry of em.

got my first bmx back in 81/82 just a cheap jobbie but loved it . stopped rideing when we moved over here to ireland in 1986 . but still kept all the bikes that i had got between 81/86 .ecept 1 i gave away my first bike to a mate whos dad built a side hack out of it . move onto 2009 and i started to think about restoreing some of them . got talking to an old school mate jim wiseman on facebook who told me about RAD i registerd on here . but out of the blue life took a turn for the worse and bmx went out the window .anyway 2 years ago i got 2 of my old frames sandblasted but that was all i got done till this year . i rediscoverd RAD started buying parts and in febuary i bought myself a new school stolen and i try and ride it for at least half an hour every day. i have 2 of my old school bikes restored and i am currently buying more parts to do 3 more . i have 11 bikes that i had bitd plus i have bought 3 more since

Never really got back into OS as apart from a break 92-93 I never stopped riding.Sort of stumbled across what was the OS thing when there was an event at the old Sankey Bridge track in the early OOs.Was good to see a few bikes/faces that hadn`t been around for a while.

I was trying to groom someone into buying all my crap I needed to offload and not have to worry about shipping

My cousin kicked it off for me back in 08 when he bought a retro Mag Burner and I decided I needed a Cali frame

4 years down the line and every last penny spent or invested in BMX, wouldnt have it any other way though

I never really got that far away from BMX as I raced road bikes and mountain bikes after bmx and still hung out at Heff's Bike Shop from time to time until it closed but what really go me into collecting and hooking up with a lot of old mates was a chance encounter with a member here (Stuntmaster) who turned up to do a warranty repair on me new cooker way back in 2002/2003 (I can't quite remember) and we got chatting about old school skating (I was wearing a Powell t-shirt) and BMX. I mooched around the old site for a while, got myself a GT24 and started riding, joined BMXTalk and found out that TonyDaButcher lived across the road from me which was pretty funny at the time. Then bit the bullet in 2005, joined up on the new site and bought myself an 85 Master from Skatepool and a load of parts from the badger and away I went!

2004/5 for me . typed in old bmx on ebay and it went tats up for a few years , building all sorts . obsessed
had a clear out in 2008+2012

Late November 2010 for me , a mate of mine asked if i'd ever typed old school BMX in the eBay search box

it brought so many memories back so i bid on 2 just incase i lost one i ended up winning both

one of the sellers told me about this place

then the spending started

Early 2002 for me.. EBay did its thing.
Started on vintage bmx then when rad started came here the first night,
funny as there was only about 4-5 logged on

First bike was a silverstreak off radman. Paid around £90

Got back into Bmx around about 2002, like others started on Vintage first of all, then came over here not long after the forum started I think! Don't post much and lost my password for a while hence the low post count

First bikes I bought were a Reflex f & f for about £30, street beat f & f £40 in the ultra rare green colour

, diamond back cool streak complete for $40.

First time I paid big money was a trip to Coopers Cycles in Portsmouth when I paid £500 for a '86 master with ukais!

Hi all, new member.

Got into old school september 2011.

My mum got out some old photos of me from the 80's, pics of me on my old bikes.

Raleigh chrome burner, Rickman freestyler, GT Pro Performer and my last bike a Skyway TA.

That was it, i needed to get back on a proper BMX again, so im in the process of building a 1986 GT Pro World Tour
and a 1986 Haro master.
