Without a shadow of doubt, black skyways....Mr dungeon knows nowt....
Quote from: glynnyboy on July 25, 2012, 01:05 PMTo be honest i think a retro rather than new school option of the cruiser would have been nice.Looking at the quality of the welding and the chroming of those prototypes i would have much prefered the os stylee.I would wager most buying these won't have a thought of competitive racing on them so why bother with the ns slant. Wonder if they did a bit of market research 1st?The main idea behind this frame and fork set was NOT to build just another race frame to compete with the all of the others out there. There are well more than thousands of people out there that grew up in the 70's and 80's on BMX bikes, and used a Skyway T/A for racing, freestyling, or just ordinary riding. Now, most of us riders from back then are in our 40's. This 24" T/A XL frameset is made for those old Skyway fans. 40-something year-olds that like the look of a classic BMX bike. It does in fact have modern race geometry, as far as the angles are concerned, and is built up to be a true XL size bike. It's pretty long with it's 22" top tube, and tall. It's not a sleek compact racer- That wasn't the goal. It's a roomy retro inspired frameset with a great design that is made to appeal to those former T/A owners from back in the day. You can still race it out at the track, but I know that the majority of the guys picking this up just want a sweet looking bike that feels great, to ride, and thrash around on. As far a market research- there are plenty of us 40-something year olds out there that still ride, and I've met a ton of guys that no longer wish to ride a 20" bike. There is certainly a market for something like this! We made a bike that WE want to ride. Skyway has a long history with BMX. The owners of Skyway now, are in fact still the same group of guys that started and ran the company back in the day. Same ownership, same factory location. BMX is the ROOTS for Skyway. This is just the first frameset that Skyway will release. The next one will be a 20" XL frame and fork set.

You do know that Snapper is fabricating these frames at his high-tech facility don't you. You might have to wait a while but the results will be smick as owt.
