Aint stripped one before, planning ahead for visit to DIY shop on way home tonite...... paint or anno?  :uglystupid2:

Depends on the colour I think (white ones are painted IIRC) otherwise anodised, get yourself some oven pride if you are feeling a bit wimpy or caustic soda if you are a real man.

yep as sean says andy
tidy up any scratches with a mini file
take all the hardware off
put some gloves on
pop it in a bag ( the food bags with the seal across the top are great for this )
put a small amount of oven pride in
work the liquid around the lever using your fingers ( through the bag )
the liquid will start to turn the colour of the anno and foam up
dont leave it in there too long
drop it out of bag into water and rinse
if a few bits of anno persist you could always repeat and concentrate the liquid on these areas
give it a quick once over with autosol

Cheers fells  :daumenhoch:  I've stripped a few parts before but know I've used up all my various strippers!!  It's a red one so Oven Pride it is then with the Brummie method.  :daumenhoch:

Sean, I've done the man thing with caustic a few yrs ago and ended up in hospital with it in my eye. That feckin hurt!!!  :LolLolLolLol:

I honestly don't think anybody can call themself a true bmx restorer until they have had a big lungfull of caustic soda fumes, it will really kick start your day  :LolLolLolLol:
