How do I remove DX end caps with out damaging them?

Ok I have some dx pedals and I want to remove the plastic end caps with out damaging them?

Any ideas welcome

i used a plastic icing decorating tool but anything plastic/blunt should do it
and be as patient as you can
these caps have a thread so try and go counter clockwise 1st maybe

long nose pliers and unscrew um  :daumenhoch:

Worked everytime for me  ;) But some end caps become very brittle  :(

pliers would work well
i would stick a wee bit of pvc tape round the ends
i fookin hate damaging anything

I use an old fork.
I dremel'd out the middle two bits and cut down the remaining two at the thickness that exactly matches the cap.
It has proved quite usefull.
Another tip is to run the end of the pedal under the hot tap for a while and rub a bit of washing up liquid round the edge of the cap.
Warming it up 1st and rubbing something in to lubricate it usually helps the unscrewing go more smoothly.  :coolsmiley:
