Would you ride on these ????
« on: June 26, 2012, 04:02 PM »
Won these on ebay about 6 month ago and have only just taken a butchers at them, chrome was flaking so have had them stripped cause i suspected that they were cracked.

Both dropouts have gone in exactley the same place so.....
given the condition these are in would you ride on them as they are, use for a show pony only, find someone to weld and finish for me just to be certain???

Cheers
Al

Do not under any circumstances ride on those again.

The resulting slam will be straight to face. not good....

If you ride em make sure your booked into the dentist the following day  :'(

That looks like a stress fracture  ???

Which would make me think its had a heavy landing at some point  :-\

For peace of mind I'd have a good look at all the wields/drop outs on the forks and frame  :-\

If your going to ride it get the thing dye tested for stress cracks  :daumenhoch:

If your going to show it just get the fracture filled  :daumenhoch:
I might actually build a bike this year instead of just hoarding parts :)

Forks.were purchased separate from the frame months ago on ebay...no chance of getting my money back there...bit annoying has I de recall them being listed as straight forks with no cracks or rewelds. So who needs a set of Skyway TA Forks for a carpet queen ????
