My Cheapo Park Rider Remix...
« on: June 18, 2012, 11:55 PM »
As luck would have it, while searching for a cheap cassette wheel, found a local V.G.C. Eastern Ace Of Spades on Ebay, which I won for £41. Looks like a kids 'down to the end of the street & back bike that's not been looked after'. F&F&bars like new except chips around the loose chain.

So, a day of fiddling and here's what I've got, since my rebirth 3months ago & £230 total spend...

Fly bars
WTP Stem
MacNeil Blazer forks
Eastern 2007 Ace Of Spades frame (like new except chain slip)
SE cranks
Demolition front wheel
Eclat pedals
Eastern hub on Weinmann rim.

It rides v.smooth, & will do me thru my learning phase / until I get a paying job... ;)

p.s. Like new Haro seat & post & Xposure tyres from Dave. :daumenhoch:

I'll prolly take the stickers off, & no, it wasn't my first choice of colour scheme, but it'll do for now. :)

Sadly not, I put the wrong size spacer in the chainring, and it's making a horrific clunking every time I pedal, :-[ it's rideable, just very annoying. The cranks are a bugger to get off the spline so I'm gonna have to leave it til I get back off me hols.

:tickedoff: didn't make it out myself today either ...work fooking me about again  :Aresehole: updated my cv and sent it off for a job . looking for something elsewhere  now . >:(

is the noise from a mis-aligned chain /sprocket with rear wheel ,  or is the sprocket moving on the spindle? if its the former it's easliy sorted .  I have a few spacers here you can  try , or some chain tensioners if its yer rear wheel alignment ..LMK if you want  anything to help .  :daumenhoch:

Hey lads is there a skate park at newton? My missus lives right near there. Would be great to leave a ride at her place and hook up sometime  :daumenhoch:

Yeah, Mesnes Park. It's ok too. 3 x 4ft mini 1/4s, an 8ft (ish) 1/4, 2 jump boxes and a mini 1/2, all metal, quite spacious.

 ;)

Dave, it's the sprocket moving on the spindle, horrible clunk every pedal. I've got a new sprocket coming, as the current one's a bit worn. Just a pain having to take the cranks off again. They're tight... :daumenhoch: for the offers to help.

Spent most of today rebuilding with a new sprocket, then took the back hub to bits, de-greased & rebuilt with new bearings (1st time doing something like that). :D Cassette sounds proper clicky now.

I've learnt loads in the past few months & am really looking forwards to riding more, again.
