Got one of these seats in the post today, minty fresh. Dont know if it will end up on the bike but it was so cheap it was stupid to not get it   :daumenhoch:

Might go a different route with the seat but keeping it under wraps for now ;)
Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.

Thought i would dig this thread out and give it a conclusion for future reference rather than start a new one  :)

So where were we... yeah so i didn't go with that seat in the end, it looked too grifter-ish (it is from a grifter) I found a Japanese MK Shoji co troxel/ quilted seat going cheap on the bay.

I wanted a blue and yellow/gold theme and decided to try and paint a few parts myself with interesting results:

The paint is Plasticote brilliant metallic and while it gave fantastic results it seemed very soft and, for want of a better word, tarnished quite easily. It would be great for a carpet queen but less so for a rider

I ordered some car paint from these guys http://www.paints4u.com/ after finding a Nissan note i liked the colour of and while a little sceptical i preped the frame and cracked on.

The repair kit i got came with primer, paint, lacquer, wet and dry and polish and was top quality for the money. There was just enough to do the frame, forks and homemade Mirage stylee X bars. The second bar isnt even welded. I just bent it to size, ground the ends to a tight fit and used aryldite to replicate a weld bead. Very convincing i thought!  ;)

The decals i had made up at a local signage company after finding a retro font i liked on the tweb and went under the final coat of lacquer.

Once i got the Skyway ace rims finished they seemed the perfect choice for this build  :daumenhoch:

Rim thread here : http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=154127.0

And with the aid of a few radsters the build was complete

Really like that  :daumenhoch:

Thats a sweet finish on the brakes  :daumenhoch:
I might actually build a bike this year instead of just hoarding parts :)
