Explain a coaster brake Tuff...!

Never used these before, so how do I install a freewheel?!     





Does the arm just screw onto the frame? Screws were not supplied!

you dont install a freewheel - its a coaster brake - connect the arm to the coaster brake tab on the frame - if it has one - if not just use a jinged seat clamp and secure it to the rear stay ... just like bitd

Oh!!!  So where do I put the sprocket for the chain...?!!

Im afraid not Rob...so how do I install the sprocket?

firstly you need a compatible Suntour sprocket (i believe) then the outer ring comes off, on goes the sprocket (should sit into grooves) then back on with the clip....tighten up lock nut.

i think that's how they go but weired that it doesn't have one.  those Tuffs don't look like they've ever been near a bike!

i think he just needs part No6 the actual sprocket, the other parts seem to be in place to me

I can't see a dustcap,sprocket or circlip in his first photo mate.

Hmmmmm looks all there to me but i maybe wrong    i can't see that there's a lot of room to fit much more to the hub??

Yeah there should be a dust cover behind the sproket 

And as said you need a circlip

To make it a freewheel all you need is one of these



and a regular BMX freewheel to screw onto it.  It's a simple 15 min job to swap out the coaster part with the freewheel part and job done.

No, once converted the coaster no longer works, there is another conversion out there that turns them into a freecoaster but I've not seen them in years and can't remember what they are called.  I think the other guys have shown what you need to get working though as a coaster brake
