Ok so if BMX was never invented

would there be another bike you would have been the same about as bmx ?

would you just not bother with a bicycle of any sort to toy with ?

would it have been a MTB ? or some thing older like a racer, chopper or so !

you thoughts please

I'd have carried on jumping on my 24" racer with cow horns and maybe got my dad to do something about the forks that kept bending.

Thats what we were doing too, we used motocross bars and the wheels off older bikes that had rod brakes as they were stronger than modern rims, in fact we tried to get the old frames too as they were stronger too.

i'd probably still be riding my raleigh boxer and seeing how far i could jump off a plank and a couple of bricks. i wanted to be just like evil kneivel when i was kid, still do now.

my dad has always had a racing bike and i have always watched grand tours . i would and have always had and loved the speed and precision of racing bikes. i was into mtb s for a while back there but without bmx s cycling would never have been gangsta!!

Aournd 1976 - 1978 I had a bike similar to Dubber's Raleigh Boxer pictured above, mine was called a Raleigh Striker. Like john4130, I used to jump off ramps made with a plank and a pile of bricks

. I Had a normal bike 1979 - 1981. Then, swapped the normal bike for a Team Murray BMX in 1982. My mates seemed to get into computer games about 1984/85 so, I'd have probaby been struck down with computer gaming if BMX had never been invented. Lucky escape

Sure wish I'd kept those old bikes from my child hood though.
