Your old bikes
« on: May 23, 2012, 11:08 AM »
Have any of you actually still got your original rides from the 80s?
I know most of us have built replicas but has anyone actually managed to hord a bike for all this time? I know my Mrs has 3 or 4 of her rides still in her mums loft
A long time ago, in a land far away!

Sadly not but my brother Simon (Hootski70 on here) still has his original Mk1 Raleigh Cromo Burner which is a Kuwwie Nova before you all forget. Only parts not original are the decals, padset, tyres and inner cables...... Even got his original black Tuff2's and black 7X's the lucky bugger.

PeterJ willnalso be along with the find of his life when a lad who worked for my brother spotted his original Ammaco at a car boot sale - how lucky was that?
Still limping......

Yep and I will always be grateful to the Williams for it  :daumenhoch:

When we did our cycling proficiency test the copper marked down the serial number of my bike on the card so if was stolen we had proof

When I got the F&F I told my mum that I'd found a bike "like mine". She dug out a load of my old BMX stuff and found the card and the numbers matched  :smitten:

Second best day of my life............. would have been perfect if there was a free pie included as well  :-\
I might actually build a bike this year instead of just hoarding parts :)

I still have my TA, which I got in 84.  Gave it a re chrome and a handful of nos bits now its looking like it did back in the 80s  I could have left it in its original condition, but the chrome had flaked badley by the headset cups and the chrome in general had suffered over the years.

I've still got two of the three I had. My Ripper, the Redline MXII I had to give to my brother to get the ripper but sadly the Tensor Magnum is long gone.
I would like to get another but haven't see another black one for sale.

Gave mine to me fookin nephew about 5 years before I got back into it.
