This is for the above bike.

Not only is it 22mm (check) but it is also 1-1/8 (check) and weighs half of the orange Social Bikes stem I had on it. Winner winner chicken dinner.

Stem got.

And then everything needed for the single speed. The first thing I needed was this, to rob the threaded bearing ends from.

Then a shopping spree.

Thankfully you can get the hed doctor top cap without spending another 20 quid on the assembly itself.

This will need to be taken apart. I have a hanger, so I need to separate that from the bolt and spring and lower assembly.

In red. Again red.

I bought two of these. Not because of chain slap (but that may be an issue) but because I battered the stays on my PK getting it back up after a ride. The stair wells are pretty narrow.

Then a expensive treat.

And then an 80s acidic vinegary ketchup bottle  :LolLolLolLol: It never dawned on me until after, but I thought it was funny AF so it is staying  :LolLolLolLol:

I bought the cheapest axle I could find. I don't need the axle itself, I just need the spacers. The wheel was originally 130mm but came with no axle, so I bought a Shimano one and cut down the spacers to make it fit the frame. IIRC that was 110mm, but it could be 120 IDR. Either way I need to put it back, but all I need is the spacers.

Then I got this. I didn't specifically need to, but it saves me bringing mine over from mum's and mine is a bit battered (I used it to tap a bolt and the rubber handle fell off, and now it falls off every time you use the bloody thing).

And finally, the cherry on top. Monday's Child herself.

I'm good thanks, just took a little break. Mum gave us a scare recently and she was my priority.

Jane off  :LolLolLolLol: yours will be an immaculate custom build, when I get around to mine it will be nothing of the sort  :LolLolLolLol: I'm still thinking a rider rat is the way to go for me, even with the goodies you donated. Unless you want to refinish my frame  :LolLolLolLol:

haha. Mine will mostly be leftover parts. The only really sweet thing will be the cranks. That and a 10 quid paint job  :LolLolLolLol:

Glad all is good. My mum gives me scares every bloody day now at her age ffs  :LolLolLolLol:

Have always liked that GT of yours! :daumenhoch:

Have just pulled the trigger on an S&M pivotal seat and some Haro Cliq race bars! Both used but in good nick and very reasonably priced. :D

Not the biggest or most exciting of purchases, but I've just bought some replacement bolts for my Profile hubs. ;D

Hmmm, interesting.... :coolsmiley:

Have just made another little purchase off eBay - a set of odi Connor Field grips. As my North American trip gets closer, I'm going to start working my way through my list of parts to buy when I'm over there. :daumenhoch:

Sadly I have to buy a new carbon post for my Pinarello. I was going to ride it this week, but the weather has been awful. Peeing driving rain and gale force winds. However.

I had issues with the bike before it was complete (it is now, I will update the thread shortly) and I discovered that the seat post had too much of the aero bit for me to be able to get my feet on the pedals with the cranks all the way down. Bugger. So I bought a new one. And other stuff, see thread....

Just snagged an O'Neal race jersey on eBay. The same model one as I bought back in 2017 but a size smaller, as that was a tent on me and I ended up trading it for a set of race pads. ;D

I just bought this original finish Shimano Tourney 79s rear brake. I tried to finish a bike off today but the DC 1020 had way too much reach, then I tried an 88s Tourney which also had too much reach. So I came across this and have taken a chance on it working. The bike will be revealed when it’s finished, it’s a very cool bike.

Back as soon as it arrives  fistblump

Keep forgetting to update this, so I'll ignore the little purchases I've recently made and be content with the large cardboard box that arrived from New Jersey yesterday!! :D

I took a chance on buying these grips in Landar branded packaging. The eBay seller is a cycling charity so if my gamble doesn’t pay off at least somebody will benefit, if it does that’s a bonus. So I think they could be Mongoose Supergoose cobra grips with the Maurice logo on the ends. If they are they will have ‘SUPERGOOSE BMX PRODUCTS’ moulded on the inside of both flanges. I think the Landar packaging is from the 70’s before the packaging was silver with the blue, yellow and red stripes. These will most likely end up on the wife’s chrome and yellow Minigoose. I’ll let you know if they are what I think they are.

They are indeed marked ‘SUPERGOOSE BMX PRODUCTS’ and have the Maurice logo on the ends. Pretty cool, the gamble payed off I guess. I’m not sure if can bring myself to open them up now  :LolLolLolLol:

Hey guys. I am still alive.  :LolLolLolLol:

I finished my Goose. Never did the polish and video though. Depends if we get the weather this side of Christmas now...

However. I've also been very busy on other projects. That said they are nearing completion and it is almost time to go into the loft and work on other stuff without being cooked. As such I am going to finish my STA first. It has a crap ton of NOS parts on, quite a few of them SNAFU. I also wasn't terribly happy about having modern tyres on (Odyssey Path 1.85). The STA back end does not work with anything over 2.1. It's very narrow.

So, on the subject of NOS and mint parts...

Staggered. One was designed for front use, one rear. They are a pair though, kinda like the tyres on the Goose. Either way they are 100% perfect for the bike. Need a good scrub though, looks like release compound (it's a fukka is that to get off). Alcohol works, though.

I will fit the rebuilt and modded Pitbull 2 whilst I am at it and yeah, that will literally be it at 100% completion. It has only taken 7 years.
