Joff, I just bought a set NOS XC compes for the fatgoose because I needed as decent pedal of 1981 but not a grippy as the xc-II's unfortunately.
What's the difference between mp1000s and xc compes ? or are they the same? apart from mine having chrome spindles.

I think there more or less the same John , bar the obvious cage stamping and as you say the XC comps have chrome spindles . I think the XC compes were aimed at the early mountainbike market but there lovely pedals and i was after either tbh as they are both right at home on a BMX .
