Midschooljon, your Bennett is coming along nicely. I've got one on the go at the moment aswell, its getting powdered at the moment. It's going to be white, with mostly Primo parts similar to how yours is set up.

Looking good that is.mines rough as hell compared to your ones lol,but i quite like the ride.I put a redneck on,S&M medium lt bars, new ODI's,new saddle coming and maybe get some decals and that will be it,ready to thrash :daumenhoch:

Looks good Gary. Some folks dont like the way these ride but I really enjoyed mine BITD. Mine wont see much action once complete, but they are tough as nails so great bikes to ride in my opinion.
Couple of new decals and seat ;)

Made a bit more progress on this today. The cranks are all bolted up and the brakes are installed. Im just waiting for a chain, freewheel, and cable and I should be able to finish this up.

The poor condition of the compression bolt on these forks is really bugging me now. I dont suppose anyone has a pitchfork compression bolt like the one in this picture knocking about? Id love to replace the rubbish one I have with one one like that. If you do and are prepared to sell it please let me know.  :daumenhoch:

Nice work Jon, that's looking awesome.
I've got one of these in the works at the moment too. BITD I had a black and a red one so this one had been powdered white and will have mostly black parts, from the Primo catalogue of course.

Yes they are definitely going to be similar. A few subtle changes but very much Bennett brothers.  :LolLolLolLol:

That looks lovely. You dont see many in white. Raw Bennett's were always my favourite colour, but as this bike is a rebuild of my OG bike from BITD I'm sticking to red as that is what I had.

Here's a quick update on mine, I was putting it together as a mock up before tearing down and refinishing all the scratched parts etc,  and I actually liked the way it was looking. So with that said, I'm going to fit a cable and chain and keep it the way it is for now.  :)

Loving that white one. Dont see many of them around.

Thanks for that. Had to get it powdered twice as the first colour wasn't quite right. Sat on the frame for a week with the first colour contemplating just building it up, but in the end decided to send it back and do it again as I would have never been happy if I hadn't. Comments like yours make me realise I did the right thing.  :daumenhoch:

spot on mate, brutal tyre for a brutal frame, :daumenhoch:

loving seeing these bennetts all built up...

somewhere in my head theres a memory of S&M re-naming the bennett frame the AKAB,

might just be confusion though,

I think you are correct. There were a few frames in stock when he left for Volume. If I recall correctly they renamed them to get rid of them without using his name but didn't continue to make the bike once they were sold out. So it wasn't a new run of frames just a blow out of old stock.  :daumenhoch:

Like when they changed the name of Castillo bars to the AD bar (although they did keep making them for a while after he left)

And then when Mike bought out a silmilar bar made by Volume, he called it the Mad Dog bar  ;D

Yep, of course. Brian Castillo, not Mike Castillo. Doh!
I guess I'd always rather think of Big Island, than that tall dude who never even had a cool nickname  :LolLolLolLol:
