Decided to give the frame a final polish today and then get it stickerd up. So please with how it looks now that all the decals are on  :smitten:

(Ignore the wheels. They are for my Bennett build and I was only using them as the GT wheels are stripped down while I look for a back hub).

Thanks for the kind words folks  :daumenhoch:

Few updates on the build...

After some wheeling and dealing I managed to get a 2nd bash guard that had the correct size clamp on it thanks to Lucas. I mixed and matched the best bits fro the 2 bash guards and built up a really nice one to go on the bike. Here is a pic of it fitted with the correct size clamp.

After doing a lot of work to save the chrome on the bars I finally decided to take the plunge and send them off to get re-chromed. Im not a big fan of ground up restored bikes, and personally like to build "tidy examples" as opposed to "show bikes". As such Ive never felt the need to get anything re chromed but as the pitting on the bars was so bad that the finish was flaking off I felt it was time to get it done. I sent them off to RS chromers and they did an amazing job. They did loads of prep work to remove the pitting and even smoothed off the scratches you often find on the bends of bars that have been ridden. The bars arrived back looking brand new.  :smitten:

I fitted the bars and right away couldnt help sliding on a set of NOS ATI GT logo grips just to get a feel of them  :2funny: Ive also put the levers on but need to get the wheel situation sorted before I can go ahead and set the brakes up.

Thats it for now. Still hunting for hubs so I can get this bike finished up.  :'(  Hopefully some turn up before MK12  ;)

Thanks for the offer but Im actually looking for the ones that came out just before the mohawks did. They look like this (these are 36H but the 48H look the same). I actually have a front one so only need the rear, but have pretty much realised Im going to need to buy a set as finding just a rear is highly unlikely.

Small update on this build. Managed to get all the brake "plumbing" installed and ready to dial in. I havent made any final adjustments as its still sitting on my Bennett wheels, but all the hard work is done as far as brake setup goes. When I get my hands on the mythical hubs it shouldnt take me long to get it all finished up now.

Here is a quick shot of how the bike is sitting now. Its really coming together now.  8)

Id love a set of GT Profiles for this as well as the matching chainwheel.  :smitten: Its definitely on my to do list, but given their current pricing its one of those things I unfortunately have to put off until funds allow. That combined with the fact I need the hubs just to get the bike finished, so any money will go towards those before new cranks.  :daumenhoch:

Nice

love those gt stems :smitten: :smitten:

gt profiles do come up ,for reasonable prices (£60-£70) most need a rechrome which can be done at a later date for a cost of around £30

as for the chainrings ive not seen any for sale for awhile and ive just used my 5th and final one :'( :'(
