Chopping bar width. Easiest & cheapest...
« on: April 22, 2012, 08:33 PM »
What do I need?

Hacksaw? (& a vice?)

Or will it be easier / cheaper to take it to a bodyshop / metal workers to do it 5 mins? ;)

Cheers

Dan

Leave the bars on the bike and use a hacksaw, takes no time at all

Top tip: Take the grips off   :daumenhoch:

Bars are Fly in metallic orange 28 inch, looking to cut 1 inch off.

They a bit scuffed up, but very light.

:daumenhoch: Betty, can see that would work.

I've used a plumbers pipe cutter from B&Q a few times. Takes abit longer but I think it gives a neater finish. Only problem I've come across is that you have to file the inner part of the tube where the bar end goes.
