Colour ideas for my new bits & pieces build. Black & orange F&F.

Got a black Eastern 06 frame coming, with orange forks & (slightly more red) orange bars, black stem. Got a mint chrome 3 piece to go on it .

Other parts will be a combo of  Winstanley's clearance & maybe some swap overs from my Hellcat (mainly black parts) cos I'm skint. Will be running 2 brakes for the near future while I'm re-learning to ride.

So I'm looking for colour combo ideas to go with black & orange. Want to keep it quite clean & simple.

I've got something in mind but be nice to hear some suggestions.

This will be my first 'decent' bike, so I want it to look nice.

My Hellcat's ok but it's a bit of a tank, and just too long for me to throw around, so not that decent for me.

When you say chrome 3 piece, I guess that you mean bars (I'm new to this BMX terminology)?

That being the case then perhaps a little more chrome, maybe chainring, back wheel and seat post clamp if you can get something at the right price. Then a black front wheel seat/post, cranks and maybe orange pedals.

How does that sound?

3 piece = 3 piece crankset.

The bars are deep red-ish orange. The wheels that are going on for now are black hubs, black rims with silver brake walls, got a black seat post or a chrome one to choose from.

It's only really chainwheel / brakes / cables / pedals / seat I need to think about.

I've been thinking about purple / blue or turquoise to brighten it up a bit. I've seen a nice orange seat, but unsure whether I want any more orange.

How about, orange pedals, black chain ring, nickel plated chain, chromed/silver or orange seat clamp and everything else black?

Personally I would not introduce another colour but thats just my opinion.

No more colour, not much goes with orange, have you seen the tweenies??

Glad you like the cranks, they are nice, I just have nothing planned for them.

I love the cranks. 

People I know have said stick to black & orange, TBH I don't like orange that much, if I had the spare cash I'd prolly get it repainted.

I just don't want it to look like a new school emo / grunge bike...

I'm still undecided on colours. Will mainly be a black / chrome swap over parts job to start with, & see how it feels.

It arrived yesterday. Build nearly complete, but don't think I be ready to ride it tomo.

Still up for going & car sharing though.

She's all built all. Just had a first test ride / tweak. Lovely, light, fast & nippy.

Colours:

Black Frame
Matt Black forks / bar / stem
Chrome cranks / chainwheel - Black pedals
Black everything else (wheels are black with silver sides)
Translucent purple dice caps 
Black everything else.
