new around here and need a little help! :)
« on: April 16, 2012, 01:38 PM »
Hey all,

I'm currently restoring a bmx and have been sent over your way from retrobikes... Im unsure of what year and name my frame is. I was originally told it was a GT but its defo not a GT frame, I'm now thinking it could be a schwinn but i'm not sure.

I have an album here http://www.facebook.com/media/set/'set=a.467028436207.264177.679651207&type=1]  if anyone could take a look that'd be amazing! I found a number under the frame basically under where the crankarms sit.  It's ST7080986???

Any help is very very welcome :-)

Thanks so much everyone

Hayley :)

Looks a bit like a Schwinn Hydraglide knock-off frame (as they came with a chainstay wishbone, and no kickstand mount).

I explored the idea of it being a powerglide but the frame is slightly different. I'm starting to give up hope of ever finding it origins, ive been through 1000's of bikes to no avail! :( sucks big time!

Nope defo not a family car.  That's why we're currently on the search for a splitty bus or panel van, bit more child friendly than the beetle or G60 lol

I've had a quick look through that catalogue none of them match my frame. I think ive found the one then a small part of it wont fit. Think it may be time to think this is just not a schwinn and i'm not going to find out its year :( O well it'll look sweet when its done anyway.

Thanks for all the help, i'm sure i'll have more questions as i get deeper into the rebuild lol
