Hi,

I have bought a F&F and did not realise at the time that there was some slight impact damage. My plan was to get "superbikedan" to strip the colour off, and try and get back to its original state, although now I am not sure it's possible.

Any idea on whether getting this straight again is going to be possible, either by me or by a specialist on here.

Was going to strip back today to try and see the serial number and check it was an '88, but will await harming the paintwork further until I know if I am looking at mission impossible...

Thanks in advance!!

That doesn't. Look that hard to repair. Go ahead and strip it.  :daumenhoch:

Yeah - gerrit stripped  :daumenhoch:

Not original paintwork, strip it and send it off to Sawzall who'll repair the dents for you and he'll (if you ask nicely) send it straight on to SBD for you :)

Thanks again gents!!

I thought that the dings could be filled and sanded but was not sure how I would approach the crushed tubing!

I shall send Sawzall a PM and see if he can help!

Don't fill it!!!!

It will need to be metal finished if your powdering it.  The reason is powdercoating requires the frame to go in an oven at something like 10,000 degrees (complete guess, I'm sure dan will post the actual temperature). The filler will fall off the frame at that temperature.

It is easy to braze up the dents. This could be done by sawzell or Darren Kapp.

I hope this helps. Stu :daumenhoch:
