can anyone tell me the year of my pro-lite freestyle it says Craig cambell on the back,i bought it as a mid 80s but would like to know for sure, the frame number is YM98080148

Not sure but i think they were very late 80's to early 90's??

i was told 86/87 but i thought the right people on here with a frame number would know, be gutted if its 90s

as pickle says its a 90's one the giveaway is the big bottom tube

Early to mid 90's. As Glenboy says the big downtube is the giveaway, also the cable guides on the top tubes.

Hi mate as stated by the others early 90"s and this has no link to CRAIG CAMPBELL at all other than the stickers

Prolite CRAIG CAMPBELLS came out in early 85 and the PROLITE Brand was ownded by FREEWHEELER LESIURE PRODUCTS who
dropped there TEAM Freestyle and Race at the end of 85 start of 86 ............. Bit daft really Craig was UK no1 freestyler and i was 15expert uk no1 RACER

Anyway they SOLD the PROLITE name a few years later about 88 and in the early 90"s the model you have appeared

with the OLD stickers on !!!

i beleive BMX CITY (NOW ) bought the name i may be WRONG on this fact

they use to be called something else

gutted i thought it was an 80s bike like i was told when i bought it a few weeks ago

i like the twin top tube bmx bikes i thought i would re live my youth and buy one like i had as a kid,this one will have to go and the hunt is back on for another twin top tube if i can find one cheapish or at least an 80s bike,thanks for all your help.

Doesn't the first part of the serial number translate as : Year of Manufacture 98 ....?

Danny, it looks cool mate.

If you're still gutted that it aint an 80's bike than take it back there, there are loads of things you can do to give it a more retro feel.

thanks dan, just think i am going to look for an early/mid 80s any way, or some thing to do as a project as i wanted to put it away after a few rides out on it,i did buy this out side ebay

i paid for it then got an email saying he wanted to put the money back into my account, coz he said some one dobbed him for pulling it from ebay (more like he took a better offer) so back to looking for a frame and forks again after ive been through paypal to get my cash back

I'm not sure that is a NOS frameset because they're not 84 decals, more like 86 I would have thought. Costa will correct me if i'm wrong. $:-\$

your bang on mate it said in one of his other listens that the stickers was off an older bike,he had 3 of them and sold them all out side ebay
