Machine Polishing em
They are plastic, coated with a chrome finish which is now less than perfect I need to recoat them with a paint of some kind. I think machine polishing would melt the plastic, they are beyond that anyhow.

You can buy rolls of very thin aluminium that can be heated slightly to form shapes, then cut off the excess. I have used it many times.

forget the chrome spray, unless you know exactly what you are doing.... the tin foil trick sounds the best option to me....

The original Sugino are only coated , thats why they're always worn on relatively lightly used ones

to get the correct chrome finish with chrome spray it has to be applied over a very high gloss black finish, i've tried it before and its shite.... but thats part in me being heavy handed and blond!
