Site Donations

Radsters

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for those who have contributed towards the site by purchasing a site tag for the year.  :4_17_5:

The Admin boys have been busy behind the scenes adding the tags and responding to your daft questions. So a huge thanks to them too.  :4_17_5: :4_17_5:

On the basis of being transparent, and of course I consider that you have a ‘right’ to know what happens to such funds I thought it prudent to share some information with you!

So, to date we have had around 180 site tags purchased for 2012 – 2013 – which equates to £1800, the collected amount higher as some donations have been more than the standard £10.

Where does the money go? – To be frank MK ! To date I have earmarked £1200 to pay for the Marquee’s - £340 for first aid - £318 for the skip – Total £1818.

We do obviously add to the funds from sponsorship from the likes of Superbikedan, Del, Vincentframes, Dave Beard, Radbmxshop, and others and of course additional site tags throughout the year. So the event continues to be free to those that participate.

Bruce and I are also planning a server move, we are currently on a ‘free’ server, however with the amount of traffic and posts, the site is creaking, and only continues if we delete historic threads, which ain’t ideal.

The cost ‘may’ be in the region of say £40 a month which equates to £480 per year, however with funds from last years site tags and funds left over from the raffle etc from MK2011, we will be able to fund this too.

So, once again a big thank you for all of the contributions made and I hope this information demonstrates that your money is being looked after.

how about this idea, follow a bit what the old OS bmx did. if you pay a premium per year, you get on site photo hosting and a free gift(read cheap gift :LolLolLolLol: printed rad mug or keyring) say £20 instead of a tenner
photobucket and loss of pics related to threads/posts/museum has always been my bugbear with old rad. with dedicated hosting we should do a parts and bikes reference with pics. with the huge range of bits out there, a good solid reference of genuine bits would be both useful and an interesting addition.

Great stuff, it's great to see how it's used, and put back into what we love  :4_17_5:

As a side note, a few of the mods/ admin, namely Stidds and Gashead, have helped me no end in the past week or so, and it's an issue that's on the cusp of being sorted. It's the little things like this that go unnoticed that make Rad what it is, or the pick up and packs that Sean sorted for me near Christmas  :4_17_5:

Cheers lads, roll on MK  :daumenhoch:
