Just wondered what opionion you guys have. ?
I never had them fitted bitd and normaly you got laughed at if you did have them fitted down my local park.
Some of the builds I've done I have added a set tho.  :LolLolLolLol:

I had padsets on race bikes as we had to have them because of the rules.

None of my street bikes had them as some little pikey fooker would have nicked them.  ;D

Like Sean has posted above, pad sets were a must back in the day because of race rules and if you're building an old race bike today then in  my eyes without them the bike isn't finished.  Freestylers not so much but defo on a race bike.
One build a year, the only way to get it right. No rushing involved.

Deffo padsets.BITD it was part of how we customized our bikes individually & gave them more identity. We all had our fave makes & another chance to show more cool logos is a good thing in my book.

They also had the advantage of saving your knees & nuts from getting ripped off on the sharp edge of your Tuf-neck or having a Race Inc crossbar embedded in your skull!
Kind of an added bonus i think.  ::)

I would always put them on a race bike build.
Had no decals, pads, or ball0cks bitd due to no pads.
That was just how we rode round the streets near me though (like marky)
, I never raced though.

Seem to remember BITD most of the kid's round our way used to do away with bar and stem pad but keep the frame pad on. Landing on the top-tube after slipping off the pedals never tickled yer bollocks as far as i can remember !  :'(
