Is it possible to use RHD cranks on the left side?
« on: April 16, 2012, 05:17 PM »
As it says really, would it not be a case of switching the arms around? Or what if your crank arms have sprocket bolts on each side like I think mine have?

Thanks in advance :daumenhoch:

The pedals will tighten not try to undo with the arms on the wrong sides  ;)

Swap the pedal spindles over then you're pedals are right way round and jobs a good un  :daumenhoch:
2 minutes turkish...

If your crank arms are threaded for a sprocket bolt on the left arm just swap the sprocket over

your pedals will try to fall off

This is an Urban myth. Try pedaling your bike forwards with a spanner on the spindle. If on the normal way they will unscrew.
If the bearings fail they are designed to unscrew rather than rip your foot off (more if you are wearing toe clips).

I ran my cranks on backwards for about 16 years. The pedals Im using now are the first pair for ages Ive not had to swap the spindles over on.
