Thinking about a set Of bars for the new subrosa dtt, and kinda like the retro look of the Sergio Layos V type bars.

What's the general opinion, any good?

i used them for a few years and really liked them, not as tall or wide as bars now but still feel good.

Nothing wrong with them but as they're a few years old they will be quite narrow arrived about 26 "

I was looking at those myself when doing my new ride. Ultimately its about comfort. I really love the feel of my mongoose decade bars so if i buy others i try to get ones with a similar sweep, width and rise  :daumenhoch:
Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.

Why isn't it a good idea to use old school bars?  :)

It def won't be old school bars, but the fly ones had a look and a price I liked. 26" is a bit on the small side though

Cos most of em are shite imo, building up a new school bike should be just that.... new school

Mark, the fly bars only have about 7" rise so they're low as well as narrow

Use 28" x 8" as the benchmark and you won't go far wrong  :daumenhoch:

I actually got mine before my son and it's newer and much better, not that I act like a child and have to compete with a 10 year old though. :2funny:

Now zip it.

i still like the fly bars and once you,ve been riding them for a couple of weeks they wont feel too narrow. i,ve been using big bars for about 6 months and still think they feel a bit too wide. here's the fly bars on my pantera.

Get these :daumenhoch:

http://www.radbmxshop.co.uk/shop/article_151.001/A-Bike-Co---Bob-Scerbo-Bars.html'shop_param=cid%3D5%26aid%3D151.001%26

Bob bars are only 25" wide  :-\

Those KHE bar/stem combos aren't very strong, nice idea but how often do bars slip in reality?

They crack at the welds where normal bars would just slip

I have a heap of bars in the shop.  NS bars are all pretty tough and some of the latest ones are HUGE!  Depends what look you're going for.  The race bars are still relatively small in comparision to the latest street/ park bars.  I just got some Gusset Public bars.  They look fantastic, 11 butted cro-mo and they're only 45 quid!!  Bargain for a set of NS bars!   :smitten:

I've got United Squad bars, think they are around £40, couldn't believe how light they were when they were handed to me! they actually weigh nowt!

about 28 X 8, and not dissimilar in geometry to my favourite bars of all time, Dyno freestyle bars.
