haro gen 1
« on: March 26, 2012, 03:27 PM »
just copied this from another site

A little bird tells me that Haro are going to remake the Gen 1 frame and fork 'exactly' like the originals. Apparently it's being built by the guys that made them the first time round and the serial numbers will continue where they left off. There is only a very small limited number coming to the UK so these are going to be highly sought after I imagine.

waste of time... unless they're planning to sell them all to 5'3" fourteen year olds.....

now if they were to bring them up to today's standards and pop them out with a 20.5" TT........ and some half decent brake lugs

Is Bob actually involved in the project though?  He sold the company a long time ago.  Not sure who owns the Haro bikes brand nowadays?  I'm sure someone will chime in with this info sooner or later...   :daumenhoch:

Yes, it would be interesting to hear or read this from somewhere official.  Has anything been officially announced or is it just rumour?

Personally, I dont mind things like this.  Im not a purist so if someone offered me a modern day 100% copy for less money, I would tend to go for the copy.

btw, its no different to what Vincent Frames are doing and I dont recal anyone having anything other than praise for their efforts..

Good news..

Paul

You'll soon be able to build a complete new old repop the way things are going. :crazy2:
Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.

I think it's a good idea if they do it exactly the same as an old one, i'd much rather buy an exact copy than a lookalike which is cr4p.

Honestly?

Didn't you know?

The lookalikes are even rarer than the real ones.

A priviledge worth paying ( through the nose) for I'll have you know :D
