from p.o.s to n.o.s
« on: June 18, 2006, 09:15 AM »
got a pair of 1982 shimano dx pedals, and to be fair they were scuffed to fook.
gave em a clean, which is how they looked in the first piccy.

wasnt satisfied with em.....they looked nasty, so went to town with a fine draw file, then onto the different gades of wet and dry.....then used my special discovery to give em the nos look.

mmm....just need some end caps now.....bollox!!!

Superb Dave - I'm just doing a set now. Guess I'll have to spend a bit longer on them to get 'em to look like that. What did you use for the finish ? Is it just metallic paint ?

nope not metallic paint...its glass paint, its translucent so the shiny alloy under neath shows thru slightly...then clear lacquered for a hard durable finish

i am the master.....

it can't be any worse than the original, the nos red pair i had lost most of it's surface colour in one good days riding. Gold seems to be holding out better though.

More inspiration. The Inspector has just had a pop at an old black pair of mine. I now fancy the blue too! Still leaves the problem of the end caps tho!!!!  >:(
