Griff... end this 'potential' thing & nail the date mate then get a final list going - gets mad confusing otherwise.

I'm in for any date other than the 30th  :)

Hold on... just re-read all of this thread.

50 people for a 2hr session!  :wtf:... from experience I'd say you will struggle to get 30 ... never mind 50.

Too much polishing and not enough peddling on RADBMX

You are better off going for 30 people at £15/£16 a head to cover the cost of £500 that they are looking for.

...2 hrs is a bit brief though.

edna - re-re-read it again - I'm saying 30 max (they asked for 500, I got them down to 450)
that works out to 15 each, still don't know if they will let peeps in early (as their regular sessions go on until 10) but have asked about it and will let peeps know ASAP

will request a date once I know what's the most popular saturday in June - so far got 2 names down for the 9th and 16th (including me)  ::)

soon as I know best date I will start collecting moneys as they want paying up front

top work Griff but 2 hours really isn't that long is it for £450  ???

Another useful point:

The park charge £8.10 for a normal session. Thats £8.10 to ride, even if its ram packed with 100+ scooter kids. AND there's no reduction if you only turn up for the last hour (or less). £15 for 2 hours, when there are less than 50 people in there isnt great, but its WAY better than the place usually is. Just hope that its a dry evening

True Rob, but it would save you driving for nearly 4 hours.

Like I said, I've asked if it's possible for peeps to turn up early and get the usual 3 hours in - problem is they're open until 10pm and even if they were up for it not sure if many peeps would want to be riding after midnight (looks for ambulance smiley)

Unless a few more people show some interest it's all theoretical anyway....

Not worth doing for 2hrs, it 'll take 2 1/2hrs to get there.
I'm in if a longer session can be sorted

can see why Ed gets stressed organising these things - it's like herding cats  :D

I've sent another email to the lady at XC asking for a response

Have asked if riders can come early, or if not feasible then can we run to 1am?
Have asked if we are liable to pay if bad weather prevents the event going ahead (Thanks alex had no idea about the open wall)
Have asked if spectators can attend
Told her that 9th June is the intended date, so if you can make this date stick your name on the end of the list please *assume we can hopefully get 3 hours in

Its comedy Gold getting the XC fb updates:

XC
Hey guys, unfortunately the far side of the park will be closed today aswell as the vert wall

Darcy Frear: Wait... you're an indoor park, aren't you?

Ross Thomson Nelson: .... HA..HA

Gavin Gavlarr: I've heard this before, haven't I?

Alex Diss: the wettest indoor scoot park around

Sporkface Jordan: Why would you build a purpose built venue with a skatepark with only 3 walls? The whole point of an indoor park is that you ride there whatever the weather is doing outside

Ollie Epps: How long is it going to be before you realise your mistake and cover that wall?

here's the latest news - I asked if we can go until 1am & get 3 hours, whether spectators are allowed and also whether we're liable to pay if rain stops play...

"We cannot extend the finish time due to our licence I am afraid

--spectating from the cafe would just be charged at normal admission prices - £2.20-would need to know the number beforehand as it is an out of hours booking
-spectating from inside the park would require a disclaimer and would need to be include in your maximum number.
- re starting early and going into the previous session it would be £5 for 3 hrs"

didn't get an answer about a bad weather refund, so have asked again - in the meantime here's the list of potentials to date (need 30 riders so add your name on the list please)

Griff, i'd scrap it and just try sorting out the problems in the middle east, you'll get much more co-operation  ;D

they don't like helping you out much do they

fook the middle east
There's too many problems
They just get in the way
We sure could live without them
They hijack our planes
They raise our oil prices
We'll kill them all and have a ball
And end their fookin' crisis
BEIRUT, LEBANON-Won't exist once we're done
LIBYA, IRAN-We'll flush the bastards down the can
SYRIANS and SHIITES-Crush their faces with our might
Then Israel and Egypt can live in peace without these dicks

I'm confused - shall I put you down with a +1 then Glem?  ;D
and stop moaning Rob FFS it's only round the corner from you

BTW just had another reply re: weather stuff

"of course if we are closed then no monies would be payable but we would likewise not be liable for any out of pocket expenses. We rarely close because of weather but on occasion do have partial closures- i would have course keep you informed of any possible issues the morning of the booking-fingers crossed weather will be good !!!"

have asked what 'out of pocket expenses' would be, just trying to be clear and upfront with you all and get the details before asking for any money

In the words of Kenny Powers, you're either in or you're fookin out  ;D

just had a reply - all she meant by out of pocket expenses was that they wouldn't pay for travelling expenses/inconvenience if they had to close the park, which is fair enough provided that she lets me know on the day if there are any issues with weather
