Parts you wish you hadn't sold.........
« on: March 14, 2012, 11:12 PM »
We've all done it,needed some cash for the paypal account and flogged some parts on...........only to find a year or so down the line you are building another bike and wish you hadn't sold the part :2gunsfiring_v1:

So lets see and i will start.

Building a gusset goose at the moment and could really do with these polished maxy cross cranks i sold to Costa for about £30 years ago :yahoo_silent:

Sold i wouldnt have minded although id rather just still have them) but gut wrenchingly at sometime between 1987-2007 both my bikes namely fully loaded Skyway TA and Curtis freestyler apparently were in the way in my parents garage and were removed to a shed at the top of the garden and from there nobody can remember or knows where they went :(

:) When RAD first started I gave away a NOS pair of CW pro bars and a NOS set of Action Zone bars to 2 fellow Radsters that I`d never met....No regrets though as I was never gonna use `em & prices weren`t as mad back then.

A restored 1983 mongoose expert, powerdisk, sugino cranks, had loads of good parts... I got rid of it to get a new school, I swapped it for a basically new wethepeople trust and loads of parts, I made about £100 on the parts and got some new mutiny glam bars and a 9t wheel, so it's not all that bad I guess :)

Sold a fair few bits that i needed a few months later but the worst things were the bits i gave away, i didn't realise how hard to find the small things in BMX are. MarkyP's done well out of me  :knuppel2: and he won't give them back as they're on his show bikes.  :LolLolLolLol:
One build a year, the only way to get it right. No rushing involved.

I have let go of so much good stuff in the past let alone what I gave away when I stopped riding and then there is all the stuff my step dad threw out when I moved out and into my own place :(

The worse one for me was when I swapped Goose Pro Class for a Kenwood CD player for my Mini 1275 GT when I was 17  :'(
I might actually build a bike this year instead of just hoarding parts :)

Judging by the prices that people are wanting now? anything you either gave away for free! or sold for cheap is gonna hurt price wise  :-\

Icing on the cake was a set of DP ladder bars as I didn't know what they were....... And my bro sold them a few years later for the going rate of over £200 notes...... ;-(

How fookin dumb am I?
Still limping......
