My First Mini Build - NOS CW Phaze 1 Mini
« on: February 28, 2012, 08:33 PM »
I know there is a thread at the moment regarding a little shady dealing by someone and a lot of people have said how Rad members try to look out for each other and do each other favours etc. Well I got a PM last week from Ben (Kaner) saying he knew I was building this bike and had a 1984 magazine with a 4 page feature on it and would I like it, no money involved, not even postage he just sent it to me FOC as he knew I would appreciate it. Another one was Gaz (Poolysheriff) who came to my rescue with the seat for this build, I offered him a certain amount and he simply said 'I'm not in this to make money, half of that will do' and then even said pay me at MK
Scorcher Mick let me bully him into letting me have his Mini Tuff Neck too and said 'just replace it whenever' Legend  :daumenhoch:
Steve69 has done yet another awesome job on building this for me, he had to cut, file, sand, shape and polish just about every part on this bike to get it right and it shows, you guys along with everyone else who helped with parts are awesome. :daumenhoch: Thankyou, my youngest Son loves it.

Enough of the Gay speech, time for parts list and pics:

1984 NOS CW Phaze 1 Mini Frameset (Serial No. P1M117) All the way from Hong Kong (near Japan) - Martin Pimmental
NOS Tange 125 Headset  - Orange Zippy
NOS Tange Lock Nut

NOS DC Tech 3 - Lee (PK Radman)
NOS DC 730
NOS DC 84 Dated Cable - John (Pooch)
NOS Skyway Pro Pads - Russ (MADD DOG)
NOS Skyway Cooling Fins - Juan Mattos
NOS (I think) CW Mini Bars - Glynn (Glynnyboy)
NOS Mini AME Duals  - Gaz (Poolysheriff)
Mini Uni Seat - Gaz (Poolysheriff)
NOS Hutch Full Radius Seat Post Clamp
NOS Ukai 20 x 1 3/8 Rims - Steve
NOS Blue/Green Label 20 x 1 3/8 Comp 3s - Steve
NOS Bullseye Hubs
NOS Izumi Chain
155mm TA Mini Cranks - JJ (Baldbmxer)
Omas Titanium Bottom Bracket
OG Hutch Mini Pedals with JDB Hutch Cages - SBD did an amazing job on the bodies ad usual

I will take the silly warranty card off as soon as my Son is big enough to ride it  :D
This should sit very pretty next to my Phaze 1 Pro & Cruiser, I'll get some pics of all three together soon :daumenhoch:

I hope you like it and thanks once again everyone for your much appreciated help. :daumenhoch:

Adam

why cant you build your own bikes? its not hard, and why is every part NOS but had to be filed, sanded and polished to fit..even the tyres and grips ???
it is a nice bike but whats the point..its soul-less..sorry but I just dont get it

think youll find this was a beast to be built ,was talking to Steve and parts had to be cut down and filed to fit !
theyres nothing wrong with buying nos parts,if thats what you want to do fine ,if you want to do resto then thats fine too,its all down to the individual :daumenhoch:

have to say this is an incredibly rare CW and Adams done it justice(for once)

most mini race frames were a right old chew to build bitd ,most had to have the forks filed to fit tyres unless you were using sew-ups(get some adam )

Fook off then..he don't want to build his bikes.. Keeps his hands nice and soft and clean and strong and censuous.
I like the fact that you don't build em.. If you did................... They'd be crap.. Keep up your up your good work and thanks for letting us see some great bikes come to life at your expense..  :4_17_5:

Fancy a bum!!!

seems that you like people blowing smoke up your ass, how dare I say something bad, at least I have bothered to reply, looking through Rad at all the builds that have been done you dont seem to comment on anybody elses builds, just your own, like I said it is a nice bike..just soul-less ;D
