I had one a few years back, bought it new in 91 from Superbike in Ilford and sold it in 2005 to someone on here (Spex). He made it into a new school ride. Never seen another and wish I hadn't sold it, but I needed the cash at the time.  :(

See it here in all it's new school glory: http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=6070.0  (page 1 Haro Museum) It looks pink in the pic but was the bright neon red.

From what I've read the headtubes tended to come off them. The only issue I had though was the screw in rear pegs started to bend the chainstays after about 5 mins - as I thought they might-  so I went back to Fusion axle pegs. I miss that bike. With a layback post and wide GT 4-piece bars it felt like a big bike. Not like the Haro Flair that I also had.

Wonder what happened to it in the end...?

There wouldn't be that many of them as most ramp/street riders rode the longer sport. And the flatlanders rode the ground master. As with most bashguard bikes most got abused and ended up dented to fook without the plates on them.  :'(. Also the era when they were out was far from the golden days of massive sales during the early 80's so not many were produced. I would say that all 3 of the bashmasters are the rarest haro's of the lot. Including the gen 1!  There were loads more sports built as they did them from 90-95. Bash masters were only from 89-91. personally love the look of them. Yummy bright orange!  :smitten:  the team one with the super rare fusion alloy cranks was the top one to have. I like all the Haro bashguard frames. I really should build up the 89 one I have. A totally different frame shape to yours but it was my favourite Haro which I rode back in 89 :)

To get all 3 is gonna cost u a bit. That's if you are building them up to team spec or near. You must be looking at £1500 to £2000 a bike. That's why most people build the more common sport as they are a fraction of the price.  :daumenhoch:

Yes the 1990 version had a short bashguard that was square at the rear stays. Also the coaster mount was taken off. As were the rear studed grips on the chain stays and the top tube was slightly longer.  :daumenhoch:

Ooh now that could look good after a dan paint job in bright orange.  :smitten:  Several riders had ad990 mounts fitted Jason Davies was one of the first. It looks like this one has been done quite well. Come on Robbo get it bought!  You must be bored of that teal one by now!  ;)

It's got the wrong bashplate though. The airmasters had one without the flick. Some where plastic some were alloy.  :daumenhoch:

My Airmaster had the plastic guard with the flick at the back. A lot of Airmaster/sport riders cut that part off.
