I've got a Hutch spindle with a bad thread that has just knackered the new button screw I tried to put in it. the other pedal was fine so I know the screws are good.

Anybody? I don't have a local metalworks that will do such a small job (not that 've found so far anyway)

Just buy a tap and do it yourself.

Does it need to be a certain size tap? I should probably google it before I typed this

At a guess I would say UNC thread possibly 7/16th

But I will stand correcting

i take it by using a button head screw your talking about the other end from the crank? 7/16 is .4375" ,just under 1/2 inch,prob more like 3/16(.1875,just over 4.75mm) but Animal is right,most likely UNC,or maybe UNF depending on thread pitch.
