my new mid school project
« on: February 15, 2012, 03:50 PM »
Got this from thecaptain(Thanks man!) now I don't know whether to buy some tuffs, some white tan walls, old school seat and grips, new sticker set etc, OR, make it like a mid school, I've got some new bars just need to pick them up, now should I get mid school grips, new mid school seat with some old school things like the dx style pedals already on and chainwheel. Which one should I do? Anyway, here's some pictures:

Those bars, grips and lever are for sale.

Seat and post are also for sale.

Paintwork isn't too bad and will only require a touch-up.

Wheels may or may not be for sale depending on what I do.

Yes, those are odd pedals.

Full bike picture showing both wheels, and a better shot of those odd pedals ;)

Thanks mate 8) was thinking something along those lines, but maybe an 80's sprocket and keep this crank? Or a different seat like a late 80's one? Like a GT? But what grips should I get? :)

Lovely blank canvas there lucas. your possibilities are endless. Personally I love how over engineered mid school stuff, and add even more overengineered stuff to it. I would have to think long and hard about what to do to a hoffman. I reckon as yours is such a blank canvas I'd mix old and new school on it, 25/9 gearing, hi rise new school bars, new twin pinch flights, primo tenderisers maybe a headset conversion, and just make it all white, white on white baby

I was actually thinking about having 25/9, but I've got my new school for that, so I sort of ruled it out, and with the chainstay brakes it'd rub the chain on the brake. And it's 1 1/8" headset :daumenhoch: I really like your DK Jaymz, I'm thinking a mix of old school like dx style pedals, os chainwheel, 4 piece bars, and a late 80's seat ;) something like the plastic GT seats with the old font? Just gotta have a lookout, the best bit ;D

Here you go mate, its in good shape but certainly not mint with a few small scratches.

But the NOS ones sell at $110 in the States so not a bad buy

No worries, as far as swaps go I don't need too much atm.  Unless you have a white Oddy 2000 brakeset or pair of green DC cables?  Long shots R us.... :daumenhoch:

Lucas, have a word with Steve 'generally' at liferbmx and get some of his powerlite stealth cranks in polished finish, they're Awesome cranks and would look great on that.  I've got some on my 87 beat  :daumenhoch:

Nice bike Youngschool.

That should be good size for you too.

Leave it as it is and use it as a rider or spray it red, gold n green Rasta Style with rattle cans.

Wrap the bars n forks in Netto Tin-Foil. No Really....then ride it down the Boardroom

Peeps will love it

Keep the faith. L

Thanks, yeah it rides great! I would spray it rasta but I guarantee some chav would want it, but I think I'll have to go buy some tin foil now, and bring it down to the next meet I can get to.
