Making a Cook Bros style seat clamp

doing a tribute build that needs a Cook Bros style seat clamp but can't afford on as its a budget build.

Was thinking of making one out of an old stem  its a 29mm seat clamp tho so its a bit wider inside than a stem.

Anyone had a go at anything like this before?

Pm skyway67 he has his own engineering firm. After talking with him on the recent Birmingham ride he is up for making anything.

I would have thought if you bolted them together it would be pretty cheap to get a little engineering company to bore out a couple of mil. You could do it yourself, with a cheap pillar drill, but i imagine the bit alone would cost more than getting it done elsewhere 

Could be a nice little moneyspinner on the bay

The Helix ones are nice clamps and do look similar to the Cooks one and not a bad price either, Theres also a PL-1 to look at for style.

Although a real PL-1 is probably more expensive than a Cook Bros.

Wouldn't mind both of them just so I can choose which one I would like to use.
