Thanks,

that bad boy is going on eBay tomorrow as I own a NOS version that I have used as reference during the build shame it has to go but can't justify keeping it.

Cheers Dan

Amazing, the pics look stunning. As a proud owner of an ET for 29 years (my bike from back in the day) & its hanging on my wall so I see it everyday I've just spent the last 20 mins gazing at your pics  :smitten:  You have a Nos ET but what's the history with the restored one, did you buy a rusty F&F & source the bits or was it complete?

Hi,

The ET was one i'd always wanted to add to my collection which I had been building up over the last 10 years. I bought a complete survivor from the US in 2010 along with another near complete survivor from someone in the UK in who had already had some nos parts ready for a rebuild. Both frames where pretty scratched up and in need of some TLC various parts were wrong or just too knackered for what I was building so I sourced replacements or got parts re anodised. The photos with 2 bikes is it next to the NOS bike as a colour comparison. It's up on ebay now with the full run down as follows:

Bike spec breakdown below:

ET frame & Forks - See 2nd to last pic with 2 frames, the top frame is the NOS bike the bottom is the restored bike i'm selling, you can see how good the paint job is.
Original frame and forks SN: T2I3975 professionally resprayed to a near identical match to NOS bike pictured, most accurate decals on the market. Most are poorly printed so the red shows through the white and have incorrect head-tube and fork graphics.
Kusuki bars - NOS
Sugino stem - NOS
OGK grips - NOS
Hatta Headset - Original headset polished has some minor wear.
Ukai Rims - Re anodised Speedlines.
Suntour Aluminium wide flange hubs - Original Hubs
IRC skinwall tires Kuwahara Branded - This is the only difference on the spec the original spec states IRC 80x skinwall Kuwahara Branded tires. What I have used is a NOS pair of IRC Z-III Kuwahara Branded Tires which are still very very hard to find they are NOS but have a couple of splits when I mounted them nothing major but see pic. The strange one on the spec of tires the 2 NOS E.T I have seen one which I own both have all black IRC 80X tires on not Kuwahara Branded.
Dia Compe 890 calliper - NOS dated 0480, brake cable dated 0380 with original cable clips.
Dia Compe Tech 2 lever  - NOS
KKT AMX pedals - NOS
Sugino steel 178 mm cranks - Original dated 82 some wear on crank arm see pic.
Hatta Bottom Bracket Set - Original
Sugino 44t steel chainwheel - NOS
Sugino chainring bolts - NOS
Tahei Elina Seat - Original excellent condition stamped 82.
Nagaoka fluted alloy post - NOS
Suntour forget aluminium seat post clamp - NOS
BMX Chain Adjusters - NOS these are the correct gold colour version not the silver ones that are easy to find.

Hi,

I don't have a code for it but it is was a 3 part process silver base coat, then candy apple red lacquer (This process is termed as a flamboyant colour) and finally the white over spray.

I sorry for disappearing the 2 frames where sprayed by Argos Cycles http://www.argoscycles.com it was a 2 part process to get the candy apple red silver base with red lacquer over that then the white spray after that. I measured up the distances for them so they had exact distance for the rear loop white and a guide for the white grad.  One of the E.T is now sold I have the other restoration which i'm just finishing off and then will be available and the NOS one.

Here's the full collection to put me back in the good books (it was a rush job so no rants about flat tires baggy chains or dust please)
http://www.bmxboy.co.uk/collection/

A couple of these may end up on ebay in a few weeks still trying to decide who to evict.

Dan  :)

Sorry for the ridiculously slow response, they are from a guy in Germany and the fork decals are different  from all the other repro ones I have seen (bang on the the originals) i'll find his details and let you know. Dan  :)
