1985 Skyway Streetbeat - Updated 14/02/12
« on: January 24, 2012, 07:08 PM »
Ok a few of you know where i'm going with this, and let's be honest, it's not the first time one has been built like this - but I don't care, I always promised i'd build one one day. :daumenhoch:

I got this frameset off the Bay for £165 posted, I was so lucky, my winning bid was only the 2nd one it had, I couldn't understand it but won't complain. :P

The paint job on it was nice and to some peoples taste...

...but not mine, there was only one way I was going with this... ::)

So, 2 weeks ago it went off to Superbike Dan's, and it arrived back today. To say Dan's done a top job would be a complete understatement, the pics I took off my phone in our kitchen simply don't do it justice, and i'm not just saying this as Dan will read this, it's a stunner. :coolsmiley: :coolsmiley: :coolsmiley: :daumenhoch:

They have great details and well built, i'll probably do another one, i'm becoming fond of the 2 tone ones, but not grey/red. :daumenhoch:

I got this frameset off the Bay for £165 posted, I was so lucky, my winning bid was only the 2nd one it had, I couldn't understand it

It must be top money for one Dan ,other potential bidders must  hope for less . They have gone up about a third at that price  :)

Far better than a Reflex  :crazy2:  for the same money   8)

These have always been a bit of an unsung hero  :-\  I like a lot of the details on them  :)

even the back end  ( although LOL at Chris wish I'd kept my TA  calls em a Skyway Estate )  :D

Love the Ruff's and the two tone's ,

pity you scrapped a decent OG finish ,, but there were better two tone combo's anyway  :daumenhoch:

and that  Orange " beats" the grey/red   hands down  :smitten:

Totally agree Christian, with all you've said, I think if I do a two tone though, i'll go down the white/grey route, however, sourcing grey Tuffs may be tricky.  :-\

Just the one mate, hopefully this but I may need to switch midway through as the DP will be required for Brett's DP reunion at the old factory.  :daumenhoch:
