Z rim dyeing
« on: January 20, 2012, 11:42 PM »
just got a nice set of z's off oldschooldayz  :daumenhoch:.
wanna dye em black though as there faded blue.
got a pack of black rit dye for em.
is it the same method as tuffs ?.
plus do you need to keep the water hot or is leaving em in for a few hours with just kettle boiled water enough.
never tried doing wheels before so wanted to check before ruining them  :crazy2:.

yup follow the tuff way - blue will go to black or back to blue  ;)

measure twice, cut once - read all threads on it for best results  ;)

 ;D

the only reason they will need a sand is to smooth out the bad parts - it will not help the dye  ;)

tell brummie what else you are going to murder  :2funny:

Oh yeah, finished mine off with a few coats of that blck shoe polish that you get in a bottle the type that has the foam applicator on the top, they give the same finish as WD40 but without the slippyness. :daumenhoch:
