New Torker build starts here.
« on: January 20, 2012, 04:43 PM »
Got this from the states a good few months ago:

Let it sit in the wardrobe for a some time, while I got some parts together. The forks needed re powdering, so I put the whole thing plus a tioga post in to be done :daumenhoch:
Picked it up today :)

Started adding parts:

Will do more on Sunday :-[ I have the tuffs, calipers and bars, but dont have the decals yet. Was thinking of getting a custom set of gold and black decals what do you guys think??
Cheers :daumenhoch:

Fook waiting till Sunday :) Just loosly put together all the parts so far. The model is 280 air. Not as nice as your 280 pro and American made Torkers, but for what I paid for it, I am not complaining :daumenhoch:

Just need advice on those decals :-\

It's just what I think I suppose, I prefer mid-late 80's bikes in general

Isn't this model also known as the Torker 2 freestyle  ::)

they did a 280 and 540 air version

I think R Al has one  and I think it was Diggler's first build  :)

Great riders I believe  8)

The colour xombo you're doing yours is  :smitten:

The frame and forks were advertised as a 280 air and the serial starts with DS, which I think means it was made outside America. Some of the other torker 280's I have seen dont have the fork pegs, so not sure if the forks came with the frame originally.
As for riding, I think the top tubes look a little short compared with my other builds. My schwinn freeform has a real long top tube and thats a great bike for riding. I will definatly take it for a spin when its done though and see what its like.
Still could do with some suggestions for decals though as it would be nice to get some ideas.
Cheers for the comments :) :daumenhoch:
