HUB HELP NEEDED
« on: January 15, 2012, 09:36 PM »
right i just bought a couple of the captains rims and wanna make a nice mid school set of wheels up.
the rims are 36 spoke and my bikes got 14mm axles.
which would be the best hubs for me to look for for a 1999 bike.......and has anybody got a nice pair to sell  ;D.

In 99 I would have said most freestyle bikes were on 48's still. I'm assuming it's a freestyle bike with 14mm axles. Race bikes were on 36's with 10mm axles. But I may be wrong.  :daumenhoch:

Yes those convertors would do the job. I would say on the hub front to look out for profiles. Or g sport if they did them in 36. (I'm sure they didn't in that era). We need s&m alex to confirm what was about at that time.  Actually primo might have done hubs in 36 hole as well.  :daumenhoch:

You can bag Primo's - good luck finding 'em - they were few and far between then due to the favoured strength over weight of the late mid school.  Believe it or not G-Sport did do a 36 called the 'Dirt Hub' in the 90's.

But for a '99 Challanger I'd grab some lovely TNT's (they've remade them now as well so not rare and you'll get to pick your colour) - Derringers or Revovlers are corkin and should only set you back around £70 new :)

Don't get the loose-ball Mowhawks though, as the one's I've had were a bit sh1t (bumpy bearings from new - even after a regrease)

dave.

Bring em round to mine Dave complete and we' drop them into the other rims in the time it takes to have a brew.

You can drop them into the lbs for a final tension when you get a chance bud :-)
