As i see it, a bike could be categorised on its use- if you bought a frame that was made for or universally regarded as a race frame but spec'd for street & only used it as such, then it could fit both categories...
Standard Burner, Puch and so on were all aimed at the starters/council estate kid

Torker, TA, Pro Class, PK Ripper were all race bread.

As a 'council estate kid', I had a Torker and a Pro Burner but according to your wording, I should have had only a Burner or an Ammaco  :-\

I'm sure there are many others on here who grew up in a similar background  :daumenhoch:

Whilst this thread has been highly amusing it is getting ridiculous now.  :crazy2:

What about a Diamond Back Silver Streak then? as that's what I had as a street bike when I was a kid.

Or would only a Diamond Back Viper be considered as a street bike as it was lower end?

I remember getting mine after my Pro-Star although I can't recall anything apart from it being a better bike overall. When you read the reviews it's considered a racing (budget laternative to the Pro)/performance street model.  :daumenhoch:

The Medium Pro was developed and sold as a 'racer' and the Viper as an out and out budget version of of the SS, a 'street' bike.

All I can add to this thread is this.

I had a Skyway T/A bitd, with Hutch cranks, Graphite Tuffs the full works but I only ever rode it on the street, so in my opinion....  You lot moan like a bunch of fooking girls, grow a set and get the fook on with it.
