They were! Shimano DX. Backyard found a stash of them around 94 and we all bought a few pairs and promptly destroyed them! Didn't have a clue how much they'd eventually be worth just wanted decent pedals!  :crazy2:

just had a flashback of a review of these frames in Ride or Dig or whatever in the mid 90s ( when I brought a Performer & was flirting with bmx again )

Anyone got that?
i've got that somewhere,i'll have a look over the weekend.

it was in ride, cant remember the issue though, but it was

when ride was a full size mag, and you needed two hands to read it.  ;D

I think it was one with Ian Morris jumping in a check shirt on the front as I've still got a scan of that... and that was the only copy I had in the 90s!

One had a Zima test, and also loads of pics of Geoff Cain riding his Zima. I have it (and those ones pictured) but I cant get them till Monday

alright not been on ere for bloody ages soz!
not got much zima stuff really, got the first proto and proto lighter weight one, yes was acually lighter frame was about 5.5 lbs.
love the pics , forgotten how cool they looked.  >:D

found a ride issue with a zima feature,its the oct/nov 1993 issue with mark noble,gerry galley and gossa on the front.

gra the Ruler gave me a copy of Ride at the last Boardroom meet - just happened to be the same as the copy I owned back then and had the Zima review in - it was an Anniversary issue with a Diamond Back Viper test as well - will get it scanned  :daumenhoch:

no, did a newer frame that was lighter, the sliding post one was the same weight.

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to add to this... I bought a Zima from Steve (too many years ago to remember). Mine was number 57, one of the first ones to have a sliding seat post. Perfect bike for me at the time. I still have it along with my first bike a Dyno Slammer and an old PK... Good memories....

Would love to know how many Zima's were built?

My frame is number 10 and the forks have AD mounts, which is nice!

Hey Steve give us the lowdown on your bikes!, would be great to hear your story...had no idea youd made a light version!!
